A Scots boxer<\/a> in hospital in Thailand ‘fighting for his life’ after a horror road incident, reportedly fell from a tuk tuk after a disagreement with the driver.<\/p>\n Colin Cairney<\/a>, from Stirling, was found unconscious on the road outside The Nature Hotel in Phuket\u2019s Patong district<\/a> on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n The 22-year-old welterwight<\/a> was rushed to hospital and is on a life-support machine ‘fighting for his life.’<\/p>\n Local reports indicate that Colin boarded a tuk-tuk rickshaw<\/a> after a night out and was on his way back to his hotel.<\/p>\n CCTV captured the driver taking Colin<\/a> to an ATM machine to pay for his fare but he passed the hotel without stopping.<\/p>\n Colin appears to have fallen off the back of the vehicle soon after and suffered a serious head injury.<\/a><\/p>\n The tuk-tuk driver did not stop and Thai police <\/a>are hunting for the man.<\/p>\n Cops<\/a> identified the tuk-tuk\u2019s owner but he said it had been rented out to another person to use as a taxi.<\/p>\n He is believed to have travelled to Thailand<\/a> with a group of pals after his last bout in May.<\/p>\n Colin <\/a>has been fighting professionally since 2023 and has a record of 10-0, with nine of his bouts finishing by knock out.<\/p>\n Last year, he won the WBO International Youth Welterweight belt in Southorn Indoor Stadium, Hong Kong, following a second round stoppage against Trijot Singh Bawa.<\/a><\/p>\n In his most recent outing he clinched the Commonwealth International belt after stopping<\/a> Taylor Greig in the fourth round at the Double Tree Hilton Hotel in Glasgow.<\/p>\n The fighter<\/a> is the highest ranked welterweight in Scotland and trains at the 1314 Boxing Club in Braehead under the tutelage of former Scottish champ Jamie Coyle.<\/p>\n Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community!<\/p>\n Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today.<\/p>\n You’ll receive daily updates on breaking news as well as the top headlines across Scotland.<\/p>\n No one will be able to see who is signed up and no one can send messages except the Daily Record team.<\/p>\n All you have to do is click here<\/a>, select ‘Join Community’ and you’re in!<\/p>\n We also treat our community members to special offers, promotions, and adverts from us and our partners. Colin is receiving intensive medical care and remains on life support.<\/p>\n “This has been an incredibly difficult and heartbreaking time for everyone who knows and loves him.<\/p>\n “We are raising funds to help support Colin\u2019s ongoing treatment, due to him not having travel insurance. Every donation, no matter the amount, will help ease some of the financial pressure during this unimaginable time.<\/p>\n “If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser.
