Have you ever sipped a perfectly-made flat white and thought to yourself, \u2018this isn\u2019t savoury enough\u2019? No? Neither have I. But clearly, someone must have \u2013 because the newest and wackiest coffee<\/a> concoction to hit our city smashes together two Aussie imports for a savoury jolt of caffeine. As part of this week\u2019s London Coffee Festival, Farm Girl has partnered up with VEGEMITE to serve Vegemite Flat Whites<\/strong> for a limited time.<\/p>\n

The London Coffee Festival is taking over The Truman Brewery this week, from May 15 \u2013 May 18<\/a><\/strong>. It\u2019s also extending to several venues across the city, as caf\u00e9s and coffee roasteries from across the country (and the world) team up and collaborate with London coffee institutions. All that to say, it\u2019s the best part of the year for those coffee-obsessed friends of yours (aka me\u2026).<\/p>\n

Each year, the coffee festival brings plenty of unique coffee drinks and experiences to try out. But this year\u2019s collaboration between Farm Girl and VEGEMITE might be one of the weirdest yet. Farm Girl\u2019s Creative Director and Co-Founder, Rose Hood, created the Flat Vegemite<\/strong>, which gives the iconic drink a bold, savoury twist with the deep umami hit of the iconic Australian spread.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Said Rose Hood: \u201cThe Flat Vegemite is destined to be our new best seller, what a flavour sensation. We can\u2019t wait for customers to level up their coffee game the Aussie way!\u201d<\/p>\n

The drink will be available at Farm Girl\u2019s Notting Hill<\/a>, Paddington<\/a>, and South Kensington<\/a> caf\u00e9s<\/strong> throughout the duration of the festival. So if you want to try it out, you\u2019ll have to act fast!<\/p>\n

Homemade Vegemite Flat Whites <\/p>\n

If you can\u2019t try the drink this weekend, they\u2019ve released a recipe so you can make it at home<\/strong>. You\u2019ll need 20 grams of ristretto (a shorter, stronger version of an espresso), one teaspoon of VEGEMITE, and 150ml of hot milk (preferably steamed). To begin with, stir the Vegemite into the ristretto shot until it\u2019s dissolved. After that, simply top with the milk and a thin layer of foam. And there you have it \u2013 your very own home-made Flat Vegemite.<\/p>\n

As an optional food pairing, they recommend serving the Vegemite Flat White with some buttered toast<\/a> for dipping<\/strong>. (But I think toast crumbs in my coffee might be a step too far. Even if I have just added Vegemite to it!)<\/p>\n
