The Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has graduated participants of the second cohort of its Tech Hub programme and enrolled 100 new trainees as part of efforts to equip young people with digital skills and improve their access to economic opportunities.\n<\/p>\n
The graduation ceremony, held at the Agboyi-Ketu Tech Hub in Ketu, saw successful participants receive certificates after completing their training, while outstanding trainees were recognised for their performance and dedication.\n<\/p>\n
Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Mrs. Adetola Adunni Abubakar, reaffirmed the council\u2019s commitment to youth empowerment through technology and skills development.\n<\/p>\n
According to her, the initiative is designed to equip young people with relevant digital competencies, create opportunities, and prepare them for success in the digital economy.\n<\/p>\n
She encouraged participants to continue learning, innovating, and developing themselves, while assuring them that the council would continue to strengthen the Tech Hub through partnerships, mentorship programmes, and exposure to wider opportunities.<\/p>\n
Abubakar also disclosed that participants who successfully complete the next phase of the programme may be considered for employment opportunities.\n<\/p>\n
The event also marked the induction of 100 participants into Cohort 3 of the programme, further expanding the council\u2019s efforts to build a digitally skilled workforce.\n<\/p>\n
Speaking during the ceremony, the Supervisor for ICT and Digital Economy and programme coordinator, Mr. Kunle Akhigbe, described digital skills as essential tools for economic independence and career advancement in today\u2019s technology-driven world.\n<\/p>\n
He commended the council for the initiative, noting that it is helping to build confidence, creativity, and the capacity of young people to compete in the digital economy.\n<\/p>\n
Participants also shared testimonials on how the programme has enhanced their skills and improved their prospects for employment and entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n
The council said the initiative forms part of its broader strategy to promote human capital development, youth empowerment, and community advancement through technology-driven learning opportunities.\n<\/p>\n
