Residents living in certain areas of the city might see further disruption to their bin services today<\/p>\n

Residents living in certain areas of Birmingham may see delays to household waste collections today, Thursday, May 15, following ‘disruption’ at two bin depots.<\/p>\n

But Birmingham City Council <\/a>urged residents to leave their bins out; promising the authority would empty them “as soon as possible”.<\/p>\n

The council blamed ongoing action at Kings Norton and Tyseley bin depots.<\/p>\n

The BBC reported<\/a> this morning that bin lorries were once again being blocked by striking refuse workers from leaving the waste depots.<\/p>\n

It said striking workers had restarted their go-slow tactics which sees them delaying trucks<\/a> from leaving the sites.<\/p>\n

Those living in central, south and east areas of Birmingham<\/a> were the most likely to be affected by the disruption.<\/p>\n

The council wrote on social media platform X: “Due to industrial action by Unite the Union at Lifford (Kings Norton) and Atlas (Tyseley) depots, some collections may be disrupted today in the south, central and east of the city.<\/p>\n

“Please leave your bins out and we will collect them as soon as possible.”<\/p>\n

Residents vented their frustrations underneath the post which was published at 9.32am.<\/p>\n

One X user said: “This is becoming a joke now.”<\/p>\n

Another added: “Why is it always Lifford Lane? Get the trucks out!”<\/p>\n
