A major road between Manchester and Sheffield<\/a> has been fully closed following a motorbike crash. The A57 Snake Pass<\/a> is shut in both directions between Hurst Road, in Glossop<\/a>, and the Ladybower Reservoir this afternoon (June 20).<\/p>\n

Drivers are being urged to avoid the area and use alternative routes. Officers expect the closure to remain in place ‘for some time’.<\/p>\n

A Derbyshire Police spokesperson said: “A section of the A57 Snake Pass is currently closed following a crash involving a motorcycle. The part of the road which is shut is near to the junction with the A6013 turn off for Bamford.<\/p>\n

“The road is expected to be shut for some time whilst emergency services deal with the incident. Motorists are advised to please use alternative routes at this time.”<\/p>\n

Snake Pass had been temporarily reopened this weekend, having been closed for ground investigation works since Monday, June 15.
