New findings from WebMD Health Services\u00a0show\u00a0a\u00a0clear\u00a0shift in\u00a0the\u00a0challenges employees face and\u00a0underscore\u00a0the need for\u00a0organizations to\u00a0rethink how they support their\u00a0people.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The findings are detailed in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/edge.prnewswire.com\/c\/link\/?t=0&amp;l=en&amp;o=4714100-1&amp;h=425655915&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.webmdhealthservices.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2026%2F06%2FWebMD-Health-Services-2026-Workplace-and-Employee-Survey-Report.pdf&amp;a=2026+Workplace+and+Employee+Survey+Report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><b>2026 Workplace and Employee Survey Report<\/b><\/a><b>,<\/b>\u00a0released today and based on responses from more than 3,872 full-time U.S. employees.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Key findings:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Overall employee well-being is down sharply from 2024. The share of employees reporting high well-being fell 11%, while the share reporting low well-being surged 39%.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Only 1 in 10 individual contributors report being highly engaged at work, which is three times lower than engagement scores reported by senior leaders.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>80% of employees use AI at work. The more they use AI, the more productive they feel. But employees who strongly\u00a0agree that\u00a0AI makes them more productive are also 4.5 times more likely to\u00a0experience burnout.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Employees Rank Their Financial Well-Being Lowest<\/b> <br class=\"dnr\"\/>For the third\u00a0straight\u00a0year,\u00a0financial well-being ranked\u00a0lowest\u00a0among\u00a0the five\u00a0dimensions of well-being: physical, mental,\u00a0work, social\u00a0and financial.\u00a0Less than half\u00a0of employees\u00a0(45.5%)\u00a0reported\u00a0strong financial well-being\u00a0this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mental, work,\u00a0social\u00a0and financial well-being have\u00a0all\u00a0declined\u00a0at a rate of 3 to 4 times\u00a0greater than\u00a0physical well-being\u00a0over a 2-year period.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Physical health programs have long been the foundation of organizational well-being strategies, and their relative stability suggests those investments are\u00a0holding,&#8221;\u00a0said Erin Seaverson, Senior Director of the Center for Research at WebMD Health Services. &#8220;But the sharper decline in\u00a0mental, work, social and financial well-being\u00a0shows that today&#8217;s pressures extend beyond what physical health programs alone can address.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>The Employee Engagement Divide<\/b> <br class=\"dnr\"\/>The data\u00a0shows how\u00a0workplace\u00a0experience varies\u00a0widely by\u00a0role.\u00a0Just\u00a012% of\u00a0individual contributors\u00a0say they are\u00a0highly engaged at work, compared\u00a0with\u00a037% of senior leaders. Well-being scores show a similar gap.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, middle managers, who are often expected to connect leadership and frontline employees, are carrying the heaviest load. Their burnout rates are more than three\u00a0times\u00a0higher than those of individual contributors.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Every employee deserves to feel engaged, valued and well at work.
