The ride takes place on Sunday, June 21 with the 54-mile route finishing at Brighton Seafront winding through rural roads on the way.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">With more than 14,000 <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mylondon.news\/all-about\/cycling\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_self\">cyclists <\/a>involved a number of roads will be closed with further guidance for supporters, and locals. Start times are staggered every 25 minutes, from 6am to 9am for the 54-mile ride. For the 20.5-mile ride start times are between 8.30 am to 9.30 am.<\/p>\n<p>Road closures<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Road closures will mainly affect B roads passing through Chipstead, Merstham, Nutfield and Burstow in Surrey, plus Turners Hill, Ardingly and Ditchling in East Sussex.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">However, the B2032 near Chipstead, London Road South near Merstham, Copthorne Common Road roundabout near <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mylondon.news\/all-about\/crawley\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"\">Crawley<\/a> Down, Westfield Road in Haywards Heath and Ditchling road in Brighton and Hove will stay accessible throughout the event.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Surrey roads on the route will be shut from 5 am Sunday and reopen by 4pm. In Sussex, restrictions are anticipated from 7am until 9pm, while Northend Lane to Beacon Road will stay closed northbound from 6 am until 6 pm.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">In Brighton, Coldean Lane to Ditchling Road and a section of Marine Parade will shut from 7am until 9pm. The course mainly follows, traffic-free tarmac roads, with road closures accounting for the majority of the route.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The organisers said: &#8220;The London to Brighton Bike Ride is beginner-friendly. We encourage everyone to get involved. We&#8217;ll even help you to prepare with training plans and tips. You can ride at your own pace so no one gets left behind. Six dedicated checkpoints will offer refreshments, toilet facilities, and both medical and mechanical assistance, ensuring participants feel well supported throughout the day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">As shown on the route map, these stops are spread across the journey and include: <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mylondon.news\/all-about\/clapham-common\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"\">Clapham Common<\/a> (London) &#8211; Toilets, water, and mechanics available. A 17 mile water stop, Walcountians Sports Club, The Dog &amp; Duck Pub, Ardingly Showground, The Mac&#8217;s Farm and the Top of Ditchling Beacon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Each rest point will additionally feature prayer facilities and complimentary feminine hygiene products. Beyond the official rest stops, ride rangers will be stationed throughout the route to assist cyclists with any requirements on the day.
