{"id":1041526,"date":"2026-06-21T20:57:16","date_gmt":"2026-06-21T20:57:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1041526\/"},"modified":"2026-06-21T20:57:16","modified_gmt":"2026-06-21T20:57:16","slug":"heat-health-alert-extended-with-wales-set-to-bake-at-38c","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1041526\/","title":{"rendered":"Heat health alert extended with Wales set to bake at 38C"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Temperatures could peak to about 38C (100F) this week, according to the Met Office, which has extended a weather warning across Wales.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Amber heat health alerts have been extended from two to four days and the affected areas have been widened to cover most of Wales.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The first Met Office warning covers areas of south and mid Wales on Monday and Tuesday and a second alert covers the rest of the country apart from Pembrokeshire on Wednesday and Thursday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The weather is expected to exceed 30C (86F) widely, the forecaster warned, and may stay above 20C (68F) overnight.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">People have been advised to avoid the midday sun, limit exercise, stay hydrated and protected from the heat, while the RSPCA has warned pet owners to take extra care.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Met Office said the hot weather could lead to widespread impact on people as well as infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Sunday is expected to become increasingly hot and humid, before the amber weather warning comes into force overnight.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Temperatures are likely to reach the low to mid 30s in places on Monday and more widely on Tuesday.
