Gwent Police<\/a>, the girl was discovered in the Duffryn Park area of Blaina at around 10.10pm on Monday.<\/p>\nLilly had previously been reported missing, having last been seen in High Street, Blaina, at around 6.50pm on Saturday June 20.<\/p>\n
The dark-haired teenager was wearing a long black dress and black sandals at that time.<\/p>\n
A 14-year-old boy from the Blaenau Gwent area has now been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in custody, Gwent Police said.<\/p>\n
The incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) \u201cin line with normal procedures\u201d, the force added.<\/p>\n

Detective Chief Inspector Steven Thomas, the senior investigating officer, said: \u201cWe continue to have a significant police presence in the area and understand the concern amongst our communities at this time.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the death and we currently have one person in police custody being questioned.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m asking anyone with information to please come and speak with us \u2013 you can do this in person, or you can contact us on the usual channels.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019d also encourage people not to speculate online as this is a live investigation and such comments can have an impact on our ability to bring anyone found to have committed a criminal offence to justice.\u201d<\/p>\n
Anyone with information is asked to contact Gwent Police on 101, quoting 2600197059, or through social media, or online.<\/p>\n
The independent charity Crimestoppers can also be contacted anonymously.<\/p>\n
Parts of Pilgrims Park, which is adjacent to the A467 in Blaina, were cordoned off after the body was discovered.<\/p>\n
Floral tributes were left close to the scene by members of the public.<\/p>\n
Niamh Salkeld, a Plaid Cymru Senedd member for Blaenau Gwent Caerffili Rhymni, said: \u201cI am deeply saddened by this tragic news.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy thoughts are with Lilly\u2019s family, friends and loved ones at what must be an unimaginably difficult time.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis news will have shocked communities across Blaenau Gwent, particularly in Blaina and among those who knew Lilly personally.<\/p>\n

Prior to the discovery, Lilly\u2019s family had appealed on social media for her to come home and had also organised searches around the local area.<\/p>\n
One relative posted: \u201cLilly, please come home my girl, I promise you\u2019re not in any trouble no matter why or how, we just want you home.<\/p>\n
