The 2026 Television and Radio Industries Club (TRIC) Awards took place today, with The Celebrity Traitors, Emmerdale, Adolescence and Clarkson’s Farm being among the series to be honoured.<\/p>\n

The annual ceremony awards achievements in both television and radio, with membership ranging from producers to broadcasters. Since 2019, the awards have been determined by a public vote from a list of pre-determined nominees. <\/p>\n

This year’s ceremony was hosted by Dan Walker, who currently presents 5 News and a weekday show on Classic FM. Walker paid tribute to the late radio DJ James Whale, who died in August at the age of 74.<\/p>\n

In terms of the awards themselves, The Celebrity Traitors took home the prize for Game Show ahead of The 1% Club, The Chase and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, with Kate Garraway and Clare Balding saying they were “thrilled” by the victory.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Digital Spy<\/strong> after the win, Garraway said: “Loads of people have been asking me if they should do it. I’m trying to persuade Susanna [Reid] to do it. Alison Hammond as well.<\/p>\n

“We have a Traitors WhatsApp group which I can’t keep up with. From the get-go everyone thought I was a Traitor so I was very lucky to have survived as long as I did really. My children were very proud.”<\/p>\n

She also called co-star \u2013 and season champion \u2013 Alan Carr a “legend”, before expressing excitement for the upcoming second season of the series as she lauded the “great characters” in the cast.<\/p>\n

While Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? host Jeremy Clarkson lost out in this category, the presenter did get some joy elsewhere, as Prime Video series Clarkson’s Farm won the Entertainment award.<\/p>\n

There were also wins for Netflix drama Adolescence and beloved Channel 4 series The Great British Bake Off in their respective categories, while Balding was named Sports Presenter.<\/p>\n

In terms of soaps, it was a glorious evening for Emmerdale, which won Soap of the Year ahead of Casualty, Coronation Street and EastEnders. Jeff Hordley, who portrays Cain Dingle, also won the prize for Soap Actor. <\/p>\n
