The family of a murdered teenager have spoken of their heartbreak on the second anniversary of his death.<\/p>\n
Ellis Cox was 19 when he was fatally shot at Liver Industrial Estate in Aintree on the night of June 23, 2024.<\/p>\n
Today marks the two-year anniversary of his murder which remains unsolved despite a \u00a340,000 reward.<\/p>\n
Mr. Cox was taken to hospital by an ambulance where he was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n
His family have released a statement on the anniversary asking anyone who may have any knowledge of the incident to come forward.<\/p>\n
In the statement, the Cox family said: \u201cIf you know something, however small you think it may be, please find the courage to come forward.<\/p>\n
\u201cSilence protects those responsible. Speaking up could help bring the answers and justice that Ellis deserves.\u201d<\/p>\n
They added: \u201cWe miss him beyond measure. We love him beyond words. We will continue to speak his name, honour his memory and fight for the truth\u201d.<\/p>\n
The family raised \u00a320,000 to double the original reward offered for information by Crimestoppers.<\/p>\n
Detective Chief Inspector Steve McGrath, the Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) for the case at Merseyside Police, said: \u201cAs the SIO in this case, I am still determined as I was two years ago to find the person or people responsible for this tragic murder.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019d like to take this opportunity to appeal to anyone who holds information whatsoever get in touch. It\u2019s not too late\u201d.<\/p>\n
Nine people have been arrested in the two years since the murder, but none have been charged.<\/p>\n
