{"id":104729,"date":"2025-05-15T23:10:14","date_gmt":"2025-05-15T23:10:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/104729\/"},"modified":"2025-05-15T23:10:14","modified_gmt":"2025-05-15T23:10:14","slug":"fourth-man-jailed-for-manslaughter-more-than-four-years-after-incident-in-birmingham","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/104729\/","title":{"rendered":"Fourth man jailed for manslaughter more than four years after incident in Birmingham"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Adil Iqbal was sentenced to eight years in prison on Wednesday after pleading guilty to manslaughter at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.find-court-tribunal.service.gov.uk\/courts\/birmingham-crown-court\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Birmingham Crown Court<\/a>, becoming the fourth man to be jailed following the death of Bashir Mohammed in April 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The 27-year-old had been part of a gang who pursued Mr Mohamed on a car, then on foot, before he was attacked and left with a fatal stab wound on Shyltons Croft in Ladypool in Birmingham.<\/p>\n<p>The incident had followed a dispute between rival groups and a shotgun was fired at a house in Sparkbrook, and the front door set alight, just beforehand, while Iqbal had fled the country shortly after the death of the 26-year-old Mr Mohamed.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/fb314ad8-3680-46d7-a9d4-8dd1378c642c.jpg\"   alt=\"Adil Iqbal pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was jailed for eight years at Birmingham Crown Court. Photo: West Midlands Police<\/p>\n<p>He was arrested on his return to the UK last November and j<a href=\"https:\/\/www.expressandstar.com\/news\/local-hubs\/birmingham\/2022\/05\/03\/three-men-convicted-of-manslaughter-after-stabbing-death\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">oined three other men in being jailed for manslaughter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westmidlands.police.uk\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">West Midlands Police<\/a> have said that enquiries are continuing as the force said it believed that other people were involved in the incident.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: &#8220;A fourth man has been jailed over the death of Bashir Mohamed who was fatally stabbed in Ladypool.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Adil Iqbal was amongst a gang who pursued Mr Mohamed in a car, and on foot, before he was attacked in April 2021.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It followed a dispute between rival groups and a shotgun was fired at a house in Sparkbrook, and the front door set alight, just beforehand.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/ddadf093-ba1c-42fd-b60d-10cbd84aef22.jpg\"   alt=\"Bashir Mohammed died in April 2021 after being stabbed.
