Eve Panesar-Unwin<\/a> (Heather Peace<\/a>) received the news she desperately wanted<\/a> in EastEnders as wife Suki (Balvinder Sopal<\/a>) told her that they\u2019ve been approved for adoption. But the happy development couldn\u2019t have come at a worse time.<\/p>\n Just moments earlier, Eve had been drowning her sorrows at Harry\u2019s Barn after the meeting with the adoption panel went awry. <\/p>\n Suki was on edge in the lead up to the meeting, worried about having to discuss her past \u2013 particularly as a parent \u2013 in a room full of strangers. <\/p>\n The situation was made worse by the fact that it was on the anniversary of son Jags\u2019 (Amar Adatia) death. <\/p>\n Jags, as viewers will recall, was sent to prison five years ago by mum Suki, who framed him for a crime carried out by Vinny (Shiv Jalota<\/a>). <\/p>\n Jags was subsequently attacked while behind bars when Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden<\/a>) withdrew his protection for him, leaving Suki absolutely devastated when she heard the news. <\/p>\n The guilt was overwhelming and, when quizzed about Jags by the panel, she fought tears and swiftly made for the exit.<\/p>\n \t\t Eve chased after her, urging her to come back inside but Suki apologised and left, feeling unable to do so. <\/p>\n Devastated by the day\u2019s events and feeling like they\u2019d lost their chance to be parents, Eve headed to the bar. <\/p>\n And Nicola Mitchell<\/a> (Laura Doddington<\/a>), who was working at the bar, soon received a piece of her mind. <\/p>\n Nicola, as viewers know, has locked horns with Suki<\/a> on numerous occasions over the past week alone, though the two having never really got along. <\/p>\n Eve squared up to her and told her she should\u2019ve left Suki alone. Nicola, though acknowledging that Eve would\u2019ve made a great mum, claimed Suki would never be a mother, belittling her children in the process.<\/p>\n \t\t \t\t\t\tDon’t miss a Soaps scoop! Upon returning home, she was taken aback to learn from Suki that \u2013 despite how the meeting concluded \u2013 they\u2019ve been approved for adoption. But despite her excitement, it was clear that Eve was worried about what Nicola might do next. <\/p>\n Will Nicola destroy Suki and Eve\u2019s happiness?
