The American rock band will take over the home of the Reds later today\"Foo<\/p>\n

The Foo Fighters have sent a message to the thousands of adoring fans that are set to fill Anfield<\/a> Stadium this week. The American rock giants are set to take to the stage at Liverpool FC\u2019s Anfield Stadium <\/a>for the first of two eagerly awaited concerts on Thursday, June 25, before returning for a second show on Saturday, June 27.<\/p>\n

The band was founded by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl in the aftermath of Kurt Cobain\u2019s death in 1994. Initially conceived as a solo recording project, Foo Fighters soon evolved into a full band when Dave brought in additional musicians ahead of their first live performances in 1995.<\/p>\n

Over the past three decades, the group have become one of the world’s most successful rock acts, producing a string of hit songs such as My Hero, All My Life and Best of You.<\/p>\n

The upcoming concerts will be Foo Fighters\u2019 first appearances at Anfield. However, Dave has previously performed at the famous stadium, joining Sir Paul McCartney on stage during the former Beatle\u2019s 2008 Liverpool Capital of Culture celebration concert.<\/p>\n

Ahead of bringing the Take Cover tour to the city, the band took to social media to share the stage times alongside a message for fans.<\/p>\n

The band wrote: \u201cLIVERPOOL NIGHT ONE! LET\u2019S GO!!! Gonna be a hot one – stay hydrated!\u201d<\/p>\n
