{"id":1049356,"date":"2026-06-25T14:50:22","date_gmt":"2026-06-25T14:50:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1049356\/"},"modified":"2026-06-25T14:50:22","modified_gmt":"2026-06-25T14:50:22","slug":"the-rolling-stones-speak-foreign-tongues-on-new-podcast-episode","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1049356\/","title":{"rendered":"The Rolling Stones speak &#8216;Foreign Tongues&#8217; on new podcast episode"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <img width=\"1140\" height=\"855\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/The-Rolling-Stones-Keith-Richards-Mick-Jagger-Ronnie-Wood-2026-New-York-Far-Out-Magazine-1140x855.jp.jpeg\" class=\"attachment-single-feature size-single-feature wp-post-image\" alt=\"The Rolling Stones - Keith Richards - Mick Jagger - Ronnie Wood - 2026 - New York\" layout=\"fill\"  style=\"object-position: 50% 20%\" loading=\"eager\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Credit: Kevin Mazur<\/p>\n<p> Thu 25 June 2026 13:20, UK <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/faroutmagazine.co.uk\/tags\/the-rolling-stones\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">The Rolling Stones<\/a> have officially launched their own podcast, Speaking in Tongues, with the first episode available to listen to now.<\/p>\n<p>The six-part series, narrated by American singer-songwriter Norah Jones, consists of interviews with the band\u2019s Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood, plus producer Andrew Watt.<\/p>\n<p>Across the series, which coincides with the release of The Rolling Stones\u2019 upcoming album Foreign Tongues on July 10th, collaborators to the new record, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/faroutmagazine.co.uk\/the-cure-kick-off-uk-tour-cardiff-everything-they-played\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"The Cure kick off UK tour in Cardiff: Here\u2019s everything they played\">Robert Smith<\/a> and Steve Winwood, also appear. <\/p>\n<p>In the first episode, The Stones look back on how they ended up partnering up with Watt on 2023\u2019s Hackney Diamonds, which led to them continuing their creative relationship on Foreign Tongues.<\/p>\n<p>Looking back, Wood shared of his mindset ahead of making Hackney Diamonds, \u201cI knew we needed some young blood and we needed somebody to produce an album, it\u2019s so difficult to get that idea past Mick and Keith, especially Keith.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Then, a dinner with Paul McCartney, who was working with Watt on <a href=\"https:\/\/faroutmagazine.co.uk\/paul-mccartney-the-boys-of-dungeon-lane-album-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"Paul McCartney \u2013 \u2018The Boys of Dungeon Lane\u2019 album review: What happens when your memories belong to the world?\">The Boys of Dungeon Lane<\/a> at the time, put the producer on his radar.<\/p>\n<p>Coincidentally, Jagger had also made a list of possible producers for the project, which happened to have Watt at the top, and the ball got rolling.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere in the episode, they reflected on <a href=\"https:\/\/faroutmagazine.co.uk\/keith-richards-says-charlie-watts-death-helped-them-make-their-new-album\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"Keith Richards says Charlie Watts\u2019 death helped them make their new album\">the loss of Charlie Watts<\/a> with Wood mourning, \u201cSadly, when Charlie did pass, actually, we were rehearsing for a tour. Although it hit us hard, we were half like, \u2018Is Charlie going to come out of this one, is it serious?\u2019 When we got the news he passed, we just had a day off, Charlie wouldn\u2019t want us to grieve and put on everything on hold.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cWe went back in the day after we heard, and in a way we played with Charlie\u2019s spirit.
