Bonnie & Wild has become the first food hall in the world to be certified as a B Corp<\/a> after meeting set environmental and social standards.<\/p>\n

The venue<\/a>, based in the city centre\u2019s St James Quarter, secured the business certification following an independent assessment by non-profit B Lab.<\/p>\n

Bonnie & Wild scored 89.9 in the assessment<\/a> \u2013 which grades businesses on their treatment of staff, community, and the environment \u2013 surpassing the passing threshold of 80. The average score for assessed businesses, according to B Lab, sits at 50.9.<\/p>\n

The marketplace<\/a> houses 14 independent Scottish kitchens and speciality retailers, supporting more than 100 jobs.<\/p>\n

\"AnBonnie & Wild is based in Edinburgh\u2019s St James Quarter.<\/p>\n

Managing Director Ryan Barrie said the certification marks a milestone for the venue.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cThis is a significant milestone for Bonnie & Wild, and I\u2019m enormously proud of our entire team for their efforts in making Bonnie & Wild the first food hall in the world to become a certified B Corp.<\/p>\n

\u201cB Corp certification means our guests can be assured that the money they spend within Bonnie & Wild is with a purpose-led business committed to championing Scottish entrepreneurs, supporting our teams, and working to safeguard the wider environment.\u201d<\/p>\n

The certification was completed as part of the Edinburgh B Corp 500<\/a> scheme, an initiative backed by Everyone\u2019s Edinburgh and the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce to get 500 capital firms certified by 2030.<\/p>\n

Mayan Grace, Director of Projects at Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce, said: \u201cEdinburgh Chamber are delighted to congratulate Bonnie & Wild on achieving B Corp accreditation. <\/p>\n
