262 Fifth Avenue<\/a>\u00a0rises 52 stories, or 860 feet, above NoMad (north of Madison Square Park). Five Points Development Group spearheaded the project, with design by\u00a0Meganom<\/a>\u00a0and Copenhagen-based\u00a0Norm Architects<\/a>\u00a0marking their first residential collaboration in the city.<\/p>\n

The pencil-thin tower contains just 26 full-floor and duplex residences and is capped by a 70-foot oculus framed by a 24-karat gold inverted arch. Renowned gold-leaf atelier\u00a0Giusto Manetti Battiloro<\/a>, whose restoration portfolio includes the Florence Cathedral, London\u2019s Big Ben, and the Rockefeller Center\u2019s Prometheus statue, was commissioned to create the beacon-like element that punctuates the building\u2019s light-refracting white facade.<\/p>\n

On-site health and wellness options were an important factor in the building\u2019s design, with the state-of-the-art facilities providing cardio and strength-training equipment, a spinning and yoga studio, and private treatment rooms. Indeed, \u201cWellness is embedded into every aspect of 262 Fifth Avenue,\u201d press materials say, including an air filtration system with \u201c100% fresh air circulation on an hourly basis.\u201d<\/p>\n
