Rio Ferdinand has told Aurelien Tchouameni<\/a> that there is “only one club” for him and that is Manchester United<\/a>. The Real Madrid<\/a> midfielder has been a long-term target for Michael Carrick’s<\/a> side, with another deal potentially boosting their prospects.<\/p>\n

Madrid are interested in Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandes, with The Athletic<\/a> reporting that United could see a way into securing Tchouameni’s signature if this deal becomes more concrete. The France international’s wages may prove to be a problem as he earns a whopping \u00a3210,000-a-week in Spain.<\/p>\n

However, Ferdinand is adamant that United cannot let the midfielder slip through their fingers if he does become available. Speaking on Rio Presents, the ex-England defender said: “If Tchouameni has half a sniff of getting out of that club, Man United have to be the first team at their door knocking and make sure he can’t even talk to anybody else.<\/p>\n

    “If you are looking to leave Real Madrid, we are the club , Man United are the club. If you want to make it happen, make the call, that’s what I’d do.”<\/p>\n

    Co-host Joel Beya cheekily added: “If not, you can always come to Arsenal. Just asking,” to which Ferdinand replied: “You don’t want to go to Arsenal, you don’t need them. He don’t want to go to you lot.”<\/p>\n

    Reports from SportItalia<\/a> claim that Madrid are open to letting the 26-year-old leave, but he is keen on staying with the La Liga giants. Tchouameni could follow in the footsteps of former colleague Casemiro, who joined United and went on to win two domestic cups during his tenure.<\/p>\n

    But Tchouameni isn’t the only midfielder United have their eye on this summer. Mateus Fernandes has emerged as a target yet again for the club, who looks set to depart West Ham this summer.<\/p>\n

    Atalanta’s Ederson all but confirmed his move to Old Trafford<\/a> was complete after stating that it is “almost all sorted.” United agreed a deal earlier this month to sign the midfielder for an initial \u00a335million plus \u00a33.8m in add-ons.<\/p>\n

    Tchouameni is valued at around \u00a360m by Transfermarkt but this price tag could rise significantly if United make a concrete offer for the Champions League<\/a> winner.<\/p>\n
