Without hesitation, a woman rescued a shark tangled up in fishing rope, using her bare hands.<\/p>\n
Charity Clark was paddle-boarding with her friends near Big Pine Key off the coast of Florida, on March 26, when they\u00a0noticed a crab trap buoy behaving unusually before spotting the white outline of a shark.<\/p>\n
The shark was upside down and motionless in the water with its body tightly wrapped\u2014from tail to mouth\u2014in the thick line, so Charity jumped into action.<\/p>\n
She gently lifted the shark and began untangling yards of rope from its body. (Watch the video below\u2026)<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was just instinct,\u201d said the 43-year-old photographer from Big Pine Key. \u201cI didn\u2019t even think twice.<\/p>\n
\u201cI saw this animal in distress and just knew I had to help.\u201d<\/p>\n
Charity believes the shark was in a tonic state, a natural, trance-like condition that makes the animal temporarily immobile\u2014a state that allowed her to work on the rope unhindered.<\/p>\n
She said she wasn\u2019t scared, but let out a loud scream when the shark suddenly came to life, starting to wrestle with the rope.<\/p>\n
