{"id":105588,"date":"2025-05-16T06:42:08","date_gmt":"2025-05-16T06:42:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/105588\/"},"modified":"2025-05-16T06:42:08","modified_gmt":"2025-05-16T06:42:08","slug":"wolverhampton-to-birmingham-trains-facing-45-minute-delays-on-friday-morning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/105588\/","title":{"rendered":"Wolverhampton to Birmingham trains facing 45 minute delays on Friday morning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalrail.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Rail <\/a>has issued a warning that trains between Wolverhampton and Stafford \/ <a href=\"https:\/\/www.expressandstar.com\/news\/transport\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Birmingham New Street<\/a> are being disrupted this morning (Friday, May 16) due to the following incidents:<\/p>\n<p>An earlier broken down train between Wolverhampton and Stafford (trains may be delayed by up to 45 minutes or diverted where possible)<\/p>\n<p>An earlier <a href=\"https:\/\/www.networkrail.co.uk\/running-the-railway\/looking-after-the-railway\/delays-explained\/signals-points-failure\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fault with the signalling system<\/a> between Wolverhampton and Sandwell &amp; Dudley (trains may be delayed by up to 15 minutes)<\/p>\n<p>Disruption is expected until 08:00.<\/p>\n<p>Route(s) affected<\/p>\n<p>Avanti West Coast between Glasgow Central \/ Edinburgh \/ Lancaster \/ Blackpool North \/ Manchester Piccadilly \/ Holyhead \/ Wolverhampton and London Euston<\/p>\n<p>CrossCountry between Manchester Piccadilly and Birmingham New Street \/ Bristol Temple Meads \/ Paignton \/ Bournemouth<\/p>\n<p>London Northwestern Railway between Liverpool Lime Street \/ Crewe and Birmingham New Street<\/p>\n<p>Transport for Wales between Aberystwyth \/ Holyhead \/ Chester \/ Crewe \/ Shrewsbury and Birmingham International and also between Aberystwyth and Birmingham New Street<\/p>\n<p>West Midlands Railway between Shrewsbury and Birmingham New Street, and also between Wolverhampton and Birmingham New Street \/ Walsall \/ Rugeley Trent Valley<\/p>\n<p>CrossCountry has issued the following advice:<\/p>\n<p>You can use your ticket at no extra cost on the following services:<\/p>\n<p>Avanti West Coast between Stafford and Birmingham New Street (please note, these services are currently disrupted)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westmidlandsmetro.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">West Midlands Metro<\/a> are conveying passengers between Wolverhampton and Birmingham New Street<\/p>\n<p>Check before you travel:<\/p>\n<p>You can check your journey using the National Rail Enquiries real-time <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalrail.co.uk\/journey-planner\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Journey Planner<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Compensation:<\/p>\n<p>You may be entitled to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalrail.co.uk\/help-and-assistance\/compensation-and-refunds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">compensation<\/a> if you experience a delay in completing your journey today.
