After that, it was a couple of years of rebuilding the businesses but it also gave us time to really plan this place even more thoroughly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The top-to-bottom refurbishment aims to preserve the historic charm of the place, and to see it once again serve as a traditional pub.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s an understatement to say that the pub has gone through a massive change,\u201d Mark says. \u201cWe\u2019re really proud to add it to our stable of pubs now. It\u2019s now hailed as home to one of the only gated beer gardens in Ancoats.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The pub\u2019s name, chosen via a public vote, pays reference to the area\u2019s cotton spinning factories. Hailed as the \u2018world\u2019s first industrial suburb\u2019 due to its significance during the Cottonopolis era in the late 18th and early 19th century, Ancoats was an epicentre for textile manufacturing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">\u201cWe thought it was the right thing to do,\u201d Mark says of the name change. \u201cIt\u2019s a link to the industrial past of the area. The brewer, <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink-news\/inside-manchester-brewery-still-creating-32213506\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_self\">which is based in Cheetham Hill<\/a>, just recently achieved its most successful year ever at the prestigious International Brewing Awards, taking home 10 medals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">\u201cThe bar here only has Joseph Holt beers and ales on draft,\u201d Mark explains. \u201cWe\u2019re so proud of our products.
