Prince William<\/strong><\/a> is detailing his experience with grief amid Prince Harry<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s ongoing rift with the royal family.<\/p>\n

\u201cGrief is the very worst pain any child or parent will ever endure, and while we cannot prevent these losses, we can ensure that every possible type of expert support and care is given, to help rebuild the lives of those affected,\u201d William, 42, shared in a statement on Wednesday, May 14, announcing the merging of Child Bereavement U.K. (a charity for which he is a patron) and Winston\u2019s Wish.<\/p>\n

William detailed the \u201clife-changing impact\u201d of Child Bereavement U.K. in his statement, praising \u201cthe support, care and compassion\u201d that the charity showcases.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have also seen the growing need for support of this kind, and it is because of this increasing demand that I am delighted that Child Bereavement UK and Winston\u2019s Wish are joining forces to expand their impact,\u201d William said. \u201cThey have recognized that together they can do so much more, and I commend them both for taking this bold step to reach more people and help to reduce the long-term challenges that unresolved grief can cause.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tPrince William spoke candidly about his experience with loss during a visit to a bereavement charity with close links to Princess Diana. \u201cThe mind gets focused on one thing, doesn\u2019t it?\u201d William, 42, said during a visit to a Child Bereavement UK center in Widnes, England, on Wednesday, February 5, according to The Times of [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n

William has his own experience dealing with grief following the death of his mother<\/a>, Princess Diana<\/strong>, in August 1997. He was 15 and Harry was 12 when she died at age 36 in a car crash in Paris.<\/p>\n

His statement comes nearly two weeks after Harry, 40, detailed their family rift in a bombshell BBC interview<\/a>. After losing his appeal in the ongoing battle for government-funded security, Harry claimed that his father, King Charles III<\/strong>, \u201cwon\u2019t speak to me.\u201d (Harry previously alluded to Charles being involved in the decision regarding his security<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\u201cI would love reconciliation with my family. There\u2019s no point in continuing to fight anymore,\u201d Harry said during his May 2 interview. \u201cLife is precious. I don\u2019t know how much longer my father has.\u201d<\/p>\n
