It\u2019s not set to reopen until November 20th, leaving it closed to guests for more than 10 months.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to new aerial views from theme park photographer <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/bioreconstruct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Bioreconstruct<\/a> we\u2019re getting a great bird\u2019s eye view of some of the work happening on the attraction, including improvements on some of the dinosaur animatronics.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HL2lm57W8AEopGx-WIDE.jpeg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-44704\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HL2lm57W8AEopGx-WIDE-1024x576.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" class=\"size-large wp-image-44704\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-44704\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Wide view of River Adventure ride under refurbishment, All Aerial Photos by <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/bioreconstruct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">@Bioreconstruct<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The River Adventure ride closed on January 5, 2026, and will remain closed through November 19, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Universal Orlando has revealed no details for the attraction\u2019s closure, only saying it is \u201cclosed for planned maintenance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/website.jpg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-44700\" src=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/website.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"925\" height=\"383\" class=\"size-full wp-image-44700\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-44700\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Wording of closure on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.universalorlando.com\/web\/en\/us\/things-to-do\/rides-attractions\/jurassic-park-river-adventure\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">official website<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Signage along the work walls in front of the attraction only say the ride will be reopening \u201cLATE 2026,\u201d despite the exact reopening date of November 20, 2026 being listed on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.universalorlando.com\/web\/en\/us\/things-to-do\/rides-attractions\/jurassic-park-river-adventure\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">official website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/OrlandoAmusmnt.jpeg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-44698\" src=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/OrlandoAmusmnt-768x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" class=\"size-large wp-image-44698\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-44698\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sign seen on work walls, Photo: <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/OrlandoAmusmnt\/status\/2038677487866040547\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">@OrlandoAmusmnt<\/a><\/p>\n<p>When the closure was first announced the biggest question on everyone\u2019s minds was whether or not the ride would be converted into Jurassic World, or remain as a Jurassic PARK experience.<\/p>\n<p>We had covered this topic many times before, <a href=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/news\/theme-park-news\/video-is-jurassic-world-taking-over-jurassic-park-river-adventure-at-islands-of-adventure\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">including way back in 2021<\/a>, and we continue to stand firm here at Park Stop that this ride will NOT be changing into Jurassic World.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HLtPwOWa8AACOGQ.jpeg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-44729\" src=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HLtPwOWa8AACOGQ-1024x574.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"574\" class=\"size-large wp-image-44729\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-44729\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Entrance roof under refurbishment, Photo: <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/bioreconstruct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Bioreconstruct<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Seeing these latest aerial views from <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/bioreconstruct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Bioreconstruct<\/a>, we can now see for certain that the first scene will remain intact, with an updated Ultrasaur animatronic. The Jurassic World counterpart in Universal Studios Hollywood replaced this first scene with a screen-based mosasaur tank sequence, something we are NOT getting here in Orlando.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HL2qttRXUAAy_Q2-ULTRASAUR.jpeg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HL2qttRXUAAy_Q2-ULTRASAUR-1024x576.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-44706\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A new, clean white armature has been installed for the neck of this Ultrasaur animated figure. The skin was removed over a month ago, but these new bright white elements are new.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/crop.jpg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/crop.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"789\" height=\"502\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-44736\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Fans are hopeful that these improvements will help the figure with more articulation, and keep it from appearing to have a \u201cbroken neck,\u201d as it has for many years prior.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HL2qttPXUAATR9a-DINOS.jpeg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HL2qttPXUAATR9a-DINOS-1024x576.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-44708\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Nearby, somewhat further down the river, which is dry in this spot of the ride, the baby stegosaurus has been receiving work as well.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HL2qttrWYAAjPnX-STEGO.jpeg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HL2qttrWYAAjPnX-STEGO-1024x576.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-44710\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This stegosaurus has seen its face skin removed to upgrade its head\u2019s moving elements. These improvements have been ongoing for weeks as well.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HL2qttrWYAAjPnX-STEGO-crop.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HL2qttrWYAAjPnX-STEGO-crop.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"824\" height=\"557\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-44737\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The adult stego, which is usually located directly across from the baby, appears to be missing at this time.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HL2otffXYAAjIsq-MOMMYSTEGO.jpeg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HL2otffXYAAjIsq-MOMMYSTEGO-1024x765.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"765\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-44739\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Work on the ride system itself can be seen happening around this area, with pipes disconnected and work seemingly happening on pumps that help keep the water flowing.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HL2otfeXgAA0Ptp.jpeg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HL2otfeXgAA0Ptp-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-44712\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Further down the ride, the exterior walls have seen portions replaced and refinished. Weatherproofing materials, in yellow, can be seen installed on the center-right portion of the next photo.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HL2nH73XoAA6EQN-EXT-WALLS.jpeg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HL2nH73XoAA6EQN-EXT-WALLS-1024x682.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-44716\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The final finish will be added on top of the weatherproofing, giving these exterior walls a concrete-exterior appearance.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HL2nH72W0AElTrV-EXT-WALLS.jpeg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HL2nH72W0AElTrV-EXT-WALLS-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-44717\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>At the end of the ride, the splashdown section of the path is still filled with water. Without the water pumping or flowing, it appears to have turned to a murky green color.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HL2kjgvaQAAIeg4-SPLASHDOWN.jpeg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HL2kjgvaQAAIeg4-SPLASHDOWN-1024x576.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-44720\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The rockwork walls beside the splashdown section previously had scaffolding up, which has already been removed, so work on those might already be completed.<\/p>\n<p>A single boat has been left on the ride course, possibly for testing purposes during the ride\u2019s downtime.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HKvZZ9oaUAAh2Cg-BOAT.jpeg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HKvZZ9oaUAAh2Cg-BOAT-1024x576.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-44731\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A few additional boats can be found backstage near the attraction.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HKvbEPtaMAAUEvf-BOATS.jpeg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HKvbEPtaMAAUEvf-BOATS-1024x576.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-44732\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The majority of the ride\u2019s full fleet of boats can be seen staged in a lot located across the street from Epic Universe, seen below. This is the same location where the track for the Fast &amp; Furious: Hollywood Drift coaster being stored before being installed at Universal Studios Florida.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HKvcTz-bQAAlaQ1-STAGING.jpeg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HKvcTz-bQAAlaQ1-STAGING-1024x576.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-44734\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Back at River Adventure, we still have no idea what type of improvements are being made inside of the ride\u2019s large show building. Rumors for new animatronics have given way for new rumors of possible budget cuts, leading to the possibility of just improvements to any existing figures, but no new dinosaurs outright.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HL2rlSMXcAA0y7c.jpeg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/orlandoparkstop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/HL2rlSMXcAA0y7c-1024x576.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-44724\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The ride usually closes annually for a deep cleaning to the waterways and repainting\/repairs of various show elements, but this is longest refurbishment period in a very long time, so fans are hopeful for more than just some new paint.
