font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">PARIS, June 29 (Reuters) &#8211; France&#8217;s Senate passed a revised version of a bill on Monday aimed at curbing online fast-fashion \u200cretailers such as Shein, Temu, which is owned by PDD \u200cHoldings, and AliExpress, after more than two years of debate and discussion between the \u200bupper and lower houses of parliament as lawmakers sought to create a text that complies with European Union law.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">\u2022 Under the law, ultra-fast-fashion companies face fines between \u20ac0.25 and \u20ac6 per product this year, rising as high as \u20ac10 \u200cper product in 2030.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">\u2022 The \u2060law also bans advertising by ultra-fast-fashion companies, and bans online influencers from promoting them.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">\u2022 &#8220;What is at stake today \u2060is not just clothes, but the societal model we want to defend,&#8221; said Serge Papin, minister for small enterprises, in a speech ahead of \u200bthe vote. &#8220;The \u200bindustry targeted by this bill is \u200bone that floods our markets \u200cwith disposable fashion, with clothes worn only a few weeks before being thrown away&#8221;.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">\u2022 The law must still be promulgated by the president in order to be enforced.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">\u2022 Shein said some measures of the bill &#8220;appear to retain inconsistencies with the applicable European framework governing digital services \u200cand e-commerce&#8221;.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">\u2022 \u200bFrance&#8217;s first version of \u200bthe anti-fast-fashion bill was passed in March 2024 by \u200cthe lower house while the next \u200bversion, passed in \u200bJune 2025 by the Senate, was more targeted with measures aimed at ultra-fast-fashion retailers targeting online-only platforms and excluding European fast-fashion \u200bplayers such as Zara \u200cand H&amp;M.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">\u2022 Spokespeople for Temu and for AliExpress did not \u200bimmediately respond to requests for comment.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none;
