LONDON, June 30 (Reuters) – British businesses’ confidence about the economic outlook fell this month although \u200ctheir assessment of their own prospects was less \u200cdownbeat, a survey by Lloyds showed on Tuesday. <\/p>\n
“While cost pressures \u200band global uncertainty continue to weigh on business confidence, international firms are much more confident with many seeing signs of supply chain disruption easing and strengthening customer \u200cdemand,” said Amanda \u2060Murphy, CEO for Lloyds Business and Commercial Banking. <\/p>\n
The survey also showed: <\/p>\n
\u2022 Businesses’ overall confidence \u2060fell by 3 points to +44, below its 12-month average of +47 <\/p>\n
\u2022 The net balance in confidence about the \u200bwider economy \u200bfell by 4 points \u200bto +31, and lower than \u200cthe 12-month average of +38 <\/p>\n
\u2022 Firms’ optimism about their own trading outlook decreased by 2 points to +56, still close to its 12-month average of +57, with 64% of firms expecting stronger output in the coming year <\/p>\n
\u2022 Confidence \u200camong manufacturing companies showed a \u200b10-point fall to +33 in June, \u200bwell below its \u200b12-month average of +46 <\/p>\n
\u2022 Hiring intentions for the \u200c12 months ahead rose for \u200bthe first \u200btime in three months <\/p>\n
\u2022 Lloyds’ data was based on online polling by Ipsos of 1,200 businesses \u200bwith annual \u200csales of at least \u00a3250,000 ($330,275), conducted from June 1 \u200bto June 15 <\/p>\n
