which for years sparked <a aria-label=\"stories of the building being hauntedLink opens in a new tab.\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/whats-on\/spooky-south-west-spots-uks-10596457\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_blank\">stories of the building being haunted<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The Odeon cinema <a aria-label=\"closed down in February this yearLink opens in a new tab.\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/news\/bristol-news\/bristol-cinema-shuts-doors-after-10726866\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_blank\">closed down in February this year<\/a> when Odeon took over the <a aria-label=\"cinema complex at nearby Cabot CircusLink opens in a new tab.\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/whats-on\/whats-on-news\/gallery\/pictures-first-look-new-odeon-10808721\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_blank\">cinema complex at nearby Cabot Circus<\/a>, and has been empty ever since.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Now, UG Arts &#8211; the firm behind the transformation of the Saw Mills in St Jude\u2019s and the creation of a music and arts venue called Underground, beneath the Galleries, have indicated their intention to take over the Odeon too.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">They have told city councillors that they intend to make modifications to the internal set-up of the building, which has three cinema screens and a cafe\/bar with foyer\/lobby area, create an outdoor smoking area and change the use of the cinema auditoriums.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">They said they will remove the cinema seats from screen 1 and from part of screen 2, and are asking for an alcohol licence to run until 4am all week, apart from on Fridays and Saturdays when it will run until 5am.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The plan is to screen films on Sunday afternoons and Monday to Thursday, but also have live music from 7pm through the week in part of the old cinema, and \u2018recorded music\u2019 &#8211;
