A man has been charged with murder following the death of a man in Welshpool town centre. An investigation was launched after an incident on Church Street at 1.16am on Sunday, June 28.<\/p>\n

It followed reports that a man had been injured. Despite the best efforts of ambulance crews the man was pronounced dead at the scene. He has now been named by Dyfed-Powys Police as Young John Mongan, 49, from Walsall.<\/p>\n

The force confirmed that Martin Slezak, 22, of Stanley Street in Welshpool has been charged with murder in connection to the incident.<\/p>\n
