A new \u2018tap to donate\u2019 point has been installed at the AO Arena,<\/a> offering thousands of visitors the chance to make a real difference with a simple gesture.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Every donation goes directly to A Bed Every Night (ABEN), a life-changing initiative that\u2019s already helped reduce rough sleeping in Greater Manchester by 43% since its launch in 2018.<\/p>\n

There are 600 beds available in A Bed Every Night, forming one part of the city-region\u2019s ongoing work to end homelessness and truly eradicate the need for rough sleeping.<\/p>\n

A Bed Every Night<\/p>\n

But this is about much more than just a bed for the night. Delivered across all 10 boroughs, A Bed Every Night<\/a> offers safe accommodation and tailored support for people facing or at risk of rough sleeping.<\/p>\n

ABEN\u2019s compassionate team works closely with each individual, helping them rebuild confidence, restore dignity, and begin a new chapter. For many, it\u2019s the first step on a long journey back to normality.<\/p>\n

Matty White, Ambassador for Greater Manchester Mayor\u2019s Charity<\/a> cut the ribbon last night to mark the launch of the latest addition to the charity\u2019s donation points installed across the city region.<\/p>\n

He knows the importance of schemes like this, having experienced rough sleeping when he was younger: \u201cI have slept on the streets, I have slept on friends\u2019 sofas.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know how important it is to get support and care, like what we see in A Bed Every Night, when you feel at your lowest. I\u2019ve spent some time with some of the residents and heard first-hand what ABEN has done for them, literally saving lives.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt can feel like so little, but just imagine if even a tenth of the people coming to see some the great shows and concerts at AO Arena decided to tap, how many nights of care and support we could see funded in A Bed Every Night.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI know this can raise some real funds!\u201d<\/p>\n

How much have the \u2018tap to donate\u2019 points raised so far?<\/p>\n

The device at the AO Arena is part of a number of devices across Manchester, which have collectively raised over \u00a34,000 over the last 12 months.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Unlike devices elsewhere, programmed to \u00a33.00, this new device gives the public the option to choose how much they want to donate, ranging from \u00a33.00 to \u00a350.00 with just a tap of their phone or card.<\/p>\n

Visitors to the AO Arena can find the device located on the main concourse. Just \u00a332 covers a night of accommodation in this pioneering scheme, so get tapping!<\/p>\n
