Princess Anne joined King Charles and Queen Camilla in Edinburgh on Tuesday for a garden party at the Palace of Holyroodhouse<\/a>. The Princess Royal stepped out in yet another coat that has become a regular feature of her wardrobe<\/a>, this one standing out for its fine embroidery.<\/p>\n

Known as the \u201cNehru Coat\u201d by British brand Shibumi, the cashmere and silk blend piece was sewn with intricate floral patterns and made in India. Princess Anne has worn it on multiple occasions, including at a Buckingham Palace garden party in 2022 as well as at Commonwealth Day services and Royal Ascot in 2024<\/a>. The repeat appearance reflects the brand\u2019s emphasis on sustainability. \u201cWe stand firmly against unethical practices, ensuring our garments are crafted with care and love,\u201d Shibumi founder Ruth Guise previously told Hello<\/a>. \u201cThis commitment extends to our environment, with batch shipping and recycled packaging. Tuesday\u2019s event marked the final royal garden party of the year and the only one held at the official royal residence in Edinburgh. But it also served as the kickoff of Royal Week, also known as Holyrood Week<\/a>, which runs from Tuesday, June 30, through Friday, July 3. The annual tradition sees the monarch spend several days visiting locations across Scotland while based at Holyroodhouse, with events designed to celebrate Scottish culture and community.<\/p>\n

The guest list for the Holyroodhouse garden party is notably slimmer, however, than the ones at Buckingham Palace<\/a>, with just approximately 8,000 guests welcomed onto the palace grounds. The festive event is traditionally accompanied by music from regimental bands and the Royal Scottish Pipers Society. The week also typically includes an investiture ceremony recognizing Scottish residents who have made notable contributions to society.<\/p>\n
