The godfather to both Prince George<\/a> and Prince Archie<\/a> has lost a whopping \u00a3243million in the last 12 months. That’s according to the Sunday Times Rich List<\/a> where the Duke of Westminster<\/a>, Hugh Grosvenor, was still ranked as the 14th wealthiest man in Britain.<\/p>\n His net worth this year, along with his family\u2019s overall wealth, is now a staggering \u00a39.8billion, down from \u00a310.1billion in 2024. Despite losing hundreds of millions, he is still far wealthier than his own godfather, none other than King Charles<\/a>, who is worth \u00a3640million in the latest standings (up \u00a330m from last year).<\/p>\n Hugh, 34, was the richest person in the UK under 40 in 2024, the same year as when he married Olivia Henson.<\/p>\n The source of his extraordinary wealth is from being a property heir and it was at the Duke\u2019s family home at Eaton Hall, near Chester, where he became engaged to Olivia in 2023.<\/p>\n He inherited his title, land and property portfolio at just 25 after his father died in August 2016. His sprawling ancestral home, Easton Hall, has been in his family since the 1400s.<\/p>\n It is where Hugh grew up with his mum and dad, Gerald and Natalia, and his three sisters, Lady Tamara, Lady Edwina and Lady Viola.<\/p>\n Billionaire Hugh, the seventh Duke of Westminster who married in front of royal family<\/a> members like Prince William<\/a> and Princess Eugiene<\/a>, is now expecting a child of his own with Olivia and they will reportedly settle down in Eaton Hall.<\/p>\n Speaking last year about plans to move from London, Olivia said: \u201cIt\u2019s obviously a place where we will live, where we\u2019ll be building our lives together.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd we\u2019re slowly transitioning to move up from London and be much more permanent here and really putting roots down. So actually, yes it was a really easy decision in the end.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite the property, which sits on 11,000 acres of land, being private, the gardens open three days a year, with money raised going to charity.<\/p>\n Eaton Hall is also home to Grosvenor Farms which produces 32 million litres of fresh milk a year and 45,000 tonnes of forage for animal feed and 4,500 tonnes of grains and oilseeds.<\/p>\n Another man who lost significant amounts of money in the 2025 Sunday Times Rich list was Sir Jim Ratcliffe<\/a>. His losses were a reported \u00a36.4billion. However, the good news for the Manchester United<\/a> co-owner is that he still has a cool \u00a317billion to his name.<\/p>\n Compiler of the Sunday Times Rich List<\/a>, Robert Watts, said: \u201cThe Sunday Times Rich List is changing. Our billionaire count is down and the combined wealth of those who feature in our research is falling.
