The incorrect information was initially published on the Nintendo Switch 2 website, and we apologise for the error.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>On the topic of potential VRR support for docked mode coming in a future firmware update, Nintendo isn&#8217;t denying the possibility:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>We have nothing to announce on this topic.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>So, no VRR on your TV with Switch 2, then. This will come as a disappointment to some, but there is at least hope that support could be added in the future, despite the token &#8220;nothing to announce&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update #2 [Fri 18th Apr 2025, 2:55am]:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As highlighted once again by Digital Foundry&#8217;s Oliver Mackenzie, this text has now also apparently been removed from Nintendo&#8217;s European websites.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" align=\"center\"><p>Update: the text is gone from the European Nintendo websites as well. Hard to think this is an error\/coincidence.\u2014 Oliver Mackenzie (@oliemack) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/oliemack\/status\/1912925904046899619?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">April 17, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Once again, we&#8217;ve reached out to Nintendo for clarification about all of this and will let you know if we hear anything back.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update #1 [Thu 17th Apr 2025, 6:15am]:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>[Thu 17th Apr, 2025 06:15 BST]:<\/strong> Just weeks after the full reveal of the Switch 2, Nintendo has reportedly updated a description on its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/us\/gaming-systems\/switch-2\/features\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">official websites<\/a> in the US, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/en-ca\/gaming-systems\/switch-2\/features\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Canada<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/jp\/hardware\/switch2\/index.html?details=tv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Japan<\/a> (<a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/nintendoeverything.com\/nintendo-switch-2-supports-variable-refresh-rate-vrr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">via Nintendo Everything<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>As highlighted by <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.digitalfoundry.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Digital Foundry<\/a>&#8216;s Oliver Mackenzie on social media, &#8220;VRR support for TV play&#8221; is no longer mentioned. It&#8217;s worth noting how other areas of the site in this region still reference VRR and Nintendo&#8217;s official <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/us\/gaming-systems\/switch-2\/tech-specs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tech Specs page<\/a> also still lists &#8220;VRR up to 120 Hz&#8221; for the console&#8217;s built-in screen.<\/p>\n<p>The Nintendo Switch 2 webpage in other regions <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/en-gb\/Hardware\/Nintendo-Switch-2\/Nintendo-Switch-2-More-details-about-features-2790188.html#details-tv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">like Europe<\/a> still have &#8220;<a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/guides\/best-4k-tvs-for-nintendo-switch-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The system also supports HDR, VRR, and frame rates up to 120 fps on compatible TVs<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" align=\"center\"><p>Some weird stuff going on at Nintendo.
