Holy Schnitzel, the hand-breaded schnitzel chain with locations across the tri-state area, is opening a delivery and pickup location steps from Times Square, taking over the space that most recently belonged to Cattle, the kosher smokehouse concept<\/a> that has since closed.<\/p>\n

A New Home in a Busy Ghost Kitchen Hub<\/p>\n

The new Holy Schnitzel operates out of a shared commercial kitchen facility \u201cPicnic\u201d that houses more than 30 different food businesses (nearly all not-kosher) under one roof, all producing meals exclusively for delivery and pickup. There\u2019s no dine-in option here and no storefront to walk into. Orders are placed online and handed off through the building\u2019s pickup counter or sent out for delivery.<\/p>\n

For a Theater District packed with tourists, office workers, and theatergoers who need something quick before curtain, that model makes sense. It\u2019s also notable because Holy Schnitzel will be the only kosher operation in the entire building. Every other kitchen in that 30-plus roster is non-kosher, so this remains the single kosher option for anyone ordering out of that facility.<\/p>\n

    The End of Cattle\u2019s Run in the Theater District<\/p>\n

    Cattle opened in this same ghost kitchen space as a Glatt Kosher smokehouse concept, serving wood-smoked brisket, ribeye, and burgers built for a quick-service, delivery-first crowd. It filled a real gap for kosher diners in the area looking for something heartier than a quick sandwich. That run has now come to an end, and Cattle is no longer operating out of this location or, as far as we know, anywhere else. No reason for the closure has been made public.<\/p>\n

    With Cattle gone, Holy Schnitzel steps in as the building\u2019s sole kosher kitchen, keeping the Theater District\u2019s only fully kosher ghost kitchen option alive under a new name and a different menu.<\/p>\n
