To celebrate, <a href=\"https:\/\/gizmodo.com\/10-creepy-cool-items-you-can-buy-from-guillermo-del-toros-collection-2000649891\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Guillermo del Toro<\/a>\u2018s fantastical classic is getting a 4K theatrical showcase, in both 2D and 3D versions, courtesy of Cineverse and Fathom Entertainment. That\u2019s coming October 9. But even earlier, <a href=\"https:\/\/gizmodo.com\/star-wars-animal-book-exclusive-porg-bantha-lucasfilm-2000476486\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Insight Editions<\/a> is releasing a pair of commemorative books that look nearly as beautiful as the film itself.<\/p>\n<p>First up is Pan\u2019s Labyrinth: The Complete Screenplay, with a foreword by director Baz Luhrmann, plus an introduction by del Toro himself. As you might expect, this won\u2019t just be a bound copy of the screenplay; it will also feature \u201ca wide range of materials from the film\u2019s production, including specially commissioned new art by visual artist Tom\u00e1s Hijo, original concept art, and storyboards. From early visual designs to moments captured during filming, the book traces the development of the story\u2019s characters, environments, and atmospheres, revealing how the film\u2019s distinctive blend of fantasy and historical drama was brought to life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It will cost $50 and arrive September 8. Here\u2019s a glimpse at some of its contents:<\/p>\n<p>The other Insight volume is Guillermo del Toro\u2019s Pan\u2019s Labyrinth: Inside the Creation of a Modern Fairy Tale\u201420th Anniversary Edition. It\u2019s described as a \u201crevised and expanded\u201d version that includes a foreword by Steven Spielberg and a new preface from del Toro.<\/p>\n<p>Inside the Creation of a Modern Fairy Tale \u201cexplores the film\u2019s creative journey, from the director\u2019s early ideas through casting, the challenging shoot, and the overwhelmingly positive critical response. Along with rare concept art and photography, there are exclusive insights from the director, the stars, the producers, and other key players involved in crafting this dark, thrilling masterpiece.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This book is $60 and releases September 8, though superfans might want to consider the limited edition version. Just 500 are available, and the first 100 come signed by del Toro ($350; unsigned versions are $175). It comes bound in a fancy case with even fancier slipcase, and includes \u201ca matching portfolio containing four prints produced exclusively for Insight Editions by Tom\u00e1s Hijo, as well as two facsimiles of concept art by Ra\u00fal Monge and Sergio Sandoval, and two facsimile pages from the film-used Book of Crossroads by Esther Gili.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s a look at this release.
