Emergency services were in attendance on the clockwise carriageway this evening (Wednesday, July 1).<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The clockwise carriageway was shut to traffic between J16 for Clifton and J17 for Prestwich. Motorway traffic cameras showed congestion building in the area amid the police response.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Motorists were warned of delays this evening.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">A National Highways spokesperson said: &#8220;Traffic stopped on the M60 in Greater Manchester clockwise between J16 Clifton &amp; J17 Prestwich due to a collision. Vehicle recovery and clear up works are underway. Currently delays of 20 minutes with 2 miles of congestion on approach.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">In an update shortly before 11pm, a spokesperson confirmed the motorway had reopened.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">They said: &#8220;All lanes now open on the M60 in Greater Manchester clockwise between J16 Clifton &amp; J17 Prestwich.
