{"id":1063687,"date":"2026-07-02T12:13:21","date_gmt":"2026-07-02T12:13:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1063687\/"},"modified":"2026-07-02T12:13:21","modified_gmt":"2026-07-02T12:13:21","slug":"f1-drivers-to-take-to-lego-minicars-at-british-gp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1063687\/","title":{"rendered":"F1 drivers to take to Lego minicars at British GP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Formula 1 drivers will hop into Lego\u00a0minicars for the British Grand Prix parade lap this weekend, following on from the success of the Lego drivers\u2019 parade at last year\u2019s Miami GP.<\/p>\n<p>All 22 drivers will have individual\u00a0minicars made from 28,000 Lego bricks for the traditional drivers\u2019 parade lap at Silverstone before Sunday&#8217;s grand prix.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0minicars were built by 20 designers and engineers, and took more than 6,400 hours to complete at Lego\u2019s Czech Republic factory, with the\u00a0minicars capable of reaching up to 25km\/h.<\/p>\n<p>Each\u00a0minicar weighs 280kg, 65kg of which is Lego bricks, and has standard go-kart wheels.<\/p>\n<p>F1 and Lego produced a viral sensation at last year\u2019s Miami GP when the drivers jumped into Lego cars, with one driver behind the wheel and their team-mate cheering them on from the passenger seat.<\/p>\n<p>   <img decoding=\"async\" draggable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/lego-williams-car-at-the-drive.jpg\" alt=\"Lego Williams car at the drivers parade\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" loading=\"lazy\"\/> <\/p>\n<p class=\"title\">Lego Williams car at the drivers parade<\/p>\n<p class=\"photographer\">Photo by: James Sutton \/ Motorsport Images<\/p>\n<p>The parade lap quickly turned into a race between the 10 Lego cars with bricks flying everywhere.<\/p>\n<p>This year there will be 22 Lego\u00a0minicars in action during the British GP parade lap which takes place 90 minutes before the race start \u2013 1:30pm BST.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLast year&#8217;s F1 drivers&#8217; parade in Miami with the Lego big build cars was one of the most memorable and talked-about moments of the season, capturing the imagination of fans around the world and showing a different side of the sport,\u201d Emily\u00a0Prazer, chief commercial officer at Formula 1, said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis year, we&#8217;re building on that moment to create an incredible spectacle for fans attending the British Grand\u00a0Prix and those watching globally. We wanted to go even bigger than last year and ensure we continue to surprise and delight our fans.
