Despite current financial struggles, such as unaffordable housing and job-related costs, Dimon urges young people to focus on personal growth, hard work, and maintaining well-being.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">While uncertainty might be muddying the economic outlook in the short term, JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon says that in the long run, <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2025\/04\/09\/jamie-dimon-jpmorgan-chase-ceo-hates-cell-phones-in-meetings-experts-agree\/?utm_source=search&amp;utm_medium=advanced_search&amp;utm_campaign=search_link_clicks\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:younger generations;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">younger generations<\/a> have many reasons to be optimistic.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2025\/04\/07\/jamie-dimon-management-tips-mistakes-advice-annual-letter\/?utm_source=search&amp;utm_medium=advanced_search&amp;utm_campaign=search_link_clicks\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Wall Street veteran;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Wall Street veteran<\/a> believes technology will help younger generations\u2014like Gen Z and Gen Alpha\u2014live longer, healthier lives, and that the economy will likely go from strength to strength.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">He added that younger people are set to benefit financially from inheritance passed down by boomer and Gen X relatives, known as the Great Wealth Transfer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">\u201cThese kids, anyone who\u2019s depressed\u2014as long as we don\u2019t have nuclear war\u2014they\u2019re going to have an unbelievable life,\u201d Dimon said in a recent interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/video\/6371264419112\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Fox News;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Fox News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">\u201cPeople say the next generation\u2019s in bad shape. Really? They\u2019re going to inherit a country that\u2019s worth two [or] three hundred trillion dollars. They\u2019re probably going to live to 120; AI is going to cure some cancers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">\u201cThey shouldn\u2019t be bemoaning their situation, they should be looking at the world and saying, \u2018What can I make of it? What can I do better than the folks before me?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">It\u2019s true that Gen Z is concerned about their financial welfare in 2025, but data suggests that many of their fears will be relatively short-lived.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">For example, Gen Zers (people born between 1997 and 2012) say they are having to <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/europe\/article\/why-cant-gen-z-find-jobs-unemployment-mental-health-tiktok\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:turn down;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">turn down<\/a> job opportunities because they can\u2019t afford commuting expenses and have decided to focus on their pets in <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2024\/12\/25\/gen-zers-may-not-have-a-house-or-kids-but-data-shows-theyre-spoiling-their-pets-more-than-any-other-generation-instead\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:lieu of;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">lieu of<\/a> having children because kids have become <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2024\/11\/22\/dinks-millennials-genz-no-kids-thanksgiving-travel-vacation-economy-housing\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:too expensive;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">too expensive<\/a> to raise.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">In addition, they\u2019re <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2024\/11\/14\/homes-are-so-expensive-a-record-number-of-first-time-buyers-needed-an-inheritance\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:abandoning their;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">abandoning their<\/a> dreams of owning a home soon\u2014unless they believe they\u2019ll receive an inheritance soon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">This cash-strapped present may prove a contrast to their wealthy future, however, with the Great Wealth Transfer estimated to trickle around $84 trillion from\u00a0the baby boomer and silent generations to their younger relatives.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">Indeed, the shift will be so great that millennials are expected to be the <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2025\/03\/28\/millennials-richest-generation-on-record-great-wealth-transfer-from-baby-boomers\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:wealthiest generation in history in the coming two decades.;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">wealthiest generation in history in the coming two decades.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">This isn\u2019t the first time Dimon has shared such a <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/article\/jamie-dimon-jpmorgan-chase-ceo-ai-impact-working-week-3-day-100-years-future\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:rosy picture of what the future will look like;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">rosy picture of what the future will look like<\/a> for the up-and-coming workforce.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">In 2023, Dimon, now 69, said that AI will not only allow people to live into their hundreds but will also vastly reduce the working week. If you don\u2019t take care of your mind, your body, your spirit, your soul, your friends, your family, you\u2019re not going to have a great life and enjoy it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">\u201cHave a little heart and humanity, treat people properly. [The way] I grew up, the way you treat everyone is fair and honest and forthright \u2026 and you\u2019ll have a great life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">Of course, achieving the level of running America\u2019s biggest bank doesn\u2019t come without persistence.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">He added: \u201cWork hard.
