According to Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney, the <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/TimSweeneyEpic\/status\/1922724874264412295\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">update was pulled because<\/a> Epic Games needs to release a weekly Fortnite update with new content, and all platforms must be updated simultaneously.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company then submitted a new version to the U.S. App Store for review on Wednesday, May 14, with the updated content. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a Friday morning post on X, Fortnite said that Apple has blocked its latest U.S. submission and has made it so Epic Games can\u2019t release its app to the European Union, either. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNow, sadly, Fortnite on iOS will be offline worldwide until Apple unblocks it,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Fortnite\/status\/1923293522234356169\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">post from Fortnite reads<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">TechCrunch reached out to Epic Games and Apple to learn more and will update if further information is provided. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Epic Games claims that Apple is blocking its Fortnite app from the U.S. and EU App Stores.
