Left-back has been a problem for Arne Slot this term, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rousingthekop.com\/tag\/andy-robertson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Andy Robertson<\/a> facing a noticeable decline.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rousingthekop.com\/2025\/02\/26\/the-player-most-likely-to-leave-liverpool-this-summer-out-of-andy-robertson-and-kostas-tsimikas-has-been-named\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kostas Tsimikas has been tipped for a summer exit<\/a>, while links have continued to Bournemouth\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rousingthekop.com\/tag\/milos-kerkez\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Milos Kerkez<\/a>. In an attempt to clear up where things currently stand, journalist James Pearce has stepped in to detail the \u2018most likely outcome\u2019 for Liverpool\u2019s left-back issues.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/GettyImages-2213838739-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Photo by Robin Jones - AFC Bournemouth\/AFC Bournemouth via Getty Images\" \/>Photo by Robin Jones \u2013 AFC Bournemouth\/AFC Bournemouth via Getty ImagesLiverpool\u2019s \u2018most likely outcome\u2019 at left-back<\/p>\n<p>In the lead up to the summer window, it has always felt as though Liverpool would prioritise bringing in a left-back.<\/p>\n<p>That they stand on the verge of their first signing being on the opposite side of the defence is something of a surprise.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the Walk On Podcast, Pearce agrees with this stance, explaining that Liverpool have been keen to bring in a left-back above all.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur understanding up to this point has been that the left side has been the priority for Liverpool in terms of strengthening there,\u201d said the reporter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rousingthekop.com\/2025\/05\/16\/why-florian-wirtz-and-jeremie-frimpong-have-already-played-at-liverpools-axa-training-centre-ahead-of-summer-moves\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Why Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong have already played at Liverpool\u2019s AXA Training Centre as summer moves heat up<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think the most likely outcome is that Kerkez, or someone else if they can\u2019t get the deal done at the price they want for Kerkez, he would come in to increase competition for places with Andy Robertson and then Kostas Tsimikas would probably move on. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think that\u2019s the most likely outcome on that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Will it be Milos Kerkez?<\/p>\n<p>While Pearce does stop short of saying Kerkez is the nailed-on arrival this summer, the Hungarian is the only player he mentions by name.<\/p>\n<p>However, the journalist does hint that if it isn\u2019t Kerkez, Liverpool are likely to target someone in a similar mould to he and Frimpong.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you think of how exciting a player Frimpong is, I think it\u2019s similar on the other flank if you look at the profile of someone like Kerkez, how energetic and dynamic he is. I think he certainly ticks similar boxes,\u201d said Pearce.<\/p>\n<p>Away from the Bournemouth man, there have been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rousingthekop.com\/2025\/05\/12\/liverpool-have-a-38m-milos-kerkez-alternative-who-is-still-in-the-mix-to-be-signed-this-summer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fresh links to Wolves defender Rayan Ait Nouri<\/a>, while Rousing The Kop understands Fulham\u2019s Antonee Robinson remains in the mix.<\/p>\n<p>Exactly who will arrive may not yet be completely clear, but what is apparent is that Liverpool are still determined to strengthen, and it\u2019s likely to be Tsimikas who pays the price. <\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Liverpool stand on the verge of making their first signing of the summer in the coming days.
