A teenager has been arrested after a series of robberies and attempts near a Birmingham<\/a> school.<\/p>\n The robbery incidents took place in the Croydon Road, Erdington<\/a> Hall Road and Bromford Lane area of Erdington Thursday (May 15) morning.<\/p>\n A woman witnessed a \u2018lad in a balaclava\u2019 attempting to rob a boy of his phone in the Erdington Hall Road area.<\/p>\n it was said she jumped out of her car \u2013 called the boy over and stopped the robbery.<\/p>\n Read more: Police update after armed officers shut down multiple Erdington streets<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n But she then called the police and followed the boy and is said to have seen him \u2018rob five more schoolkids\u2019.<\/p>\n Erdington Academy issued an alert to parents and carers confirming the robbery incidents.<\/p>\n It said: \u201cI wanted to update you on an incident that took place this morning before school in Croydon Road.<\/p>\n \u201cWhilst students were coming to school some were approached by a member of the public.<\/p>\n \u201cThere are allegations this this individual may have tried to steal items from some Erdington Academy students.<\/p>\n \u201cDue to the swift action of students, residents and staff on duty at the back gate to school, the police were contacted.
