Mick Jagger has spoken in a new interview about the possibility of The Rolling Stones<\/a> performing on-stage as avatars in the future.<\/p>\n While The Rolling Stones, who release their new album\u00a0Foreign Tongues\u00a0on July 10th, are not retired as a live band, Jagger is already looking ahead to the future and how they can use technology to create a legacy-defining live experience.<\/p>\n In a new interview with the Argentine outlet La Naci\u00f3n, Jagger was asked about how he believes The Rolling Stones\u2019 legacy can endure for generations to come, as well as his thoughts on bands coming back to life through avatars. <\/p>\n Jagger seemed on board, stating, \u201cI think all these things have a place in people\u2019s memories, you know, that want to re-live this\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n On the topic of ABBA Voyage specifically, he said, \u201cThe ABBA thing <\/a>has been hugely popular in England, people go and see it, nobody knew that was going to be a success, and it\u2019s been a huge success.\u201d<\/p>\n However, Jagger does believe that it\u2019s now a different ballgame due to the rapid rise in technology in the four years since ABBA Voyage opened its doors in London, adding on a potential Stones experience, \u201cI\u2019m sure it\u2019s going to be something much more original and bigger in the future, you know, we\u2019ve come so far since the ABBA thing, things have happened so much, technically.\u201d<\/p>\n The Stones frontman then shared his belief that \u201cit would be mindblowing what you\u2019d be able to do\u201d in a matter of years if things continue to develop at the same rate.<\/p>\n Previously, in 2023, Jagger seemed interested<\/a> in the idea of The Rolling Stones continuing long after they\u2019ve gone, remarking, \u201cYou can have a posthumous business now, can\u2019t you? You can have a posthumous tour.\u201d<\/p>\n For now, though, while The Rolling Stones have no current plans to tour Foreign Tongues, Jagger recently shared his hopes for them to return to the road next year<\/a>, and an avatar show feels like it\u2019s firmly in the long distance.<\/p>\n On the subject of avatar shows, earlier this week, it was reported that Elton John<\/a> has penned a multi-million-pound deal which will see him perform as a hologram at the new Hard Rock hotel in Las Vegas, which is currently on schedule to open in late 2027.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
