The Brit picked up just three games throughout the two-set defeat, with Gauff showing her class during a dominant performance in the Italian capital.

Raducanu talked down her showing following the defeat, claiming she felt “outplayed” by the world No.3. However, taking to social media, the 2021 US Open winner shared the steps she was taking to bounce back from the loss.

Posting on her Instagram story, Raducanu was enjoying a spot of lunch with two close friends, including Bridgerton and Sex Education actress Simone Ashley. The trio had a portion of fries and a mug of tea between them, with Raducanu captioning the post with “Remedy”, along with a patched up heart, stethoscope and big eyes emojis.

It’s a glimpse at how she’s bounced back following the disappointing loss, with the tennis ace having vowed to put it behind her. Speaking after the defeat, she told Sky Sports: “I would love to just keep improving and keep playing; I think that is a positive for me.

“I don’t want to go and hide in a hole somewhere, I want to get back out there. We will see where it goes in the next week before the French.”

It’s nine days until the French Open gets underway, with Raducanu having traditionally struggled at Roland-Garros. In fact, just once since breaking onto the scene has the grand slam winner featured in the French showpiece – a 2022 run to the second round. Instead, injuries and the close proximity to Wimbledon have often meant Raducanu has been forced to sit out.

She continued: “It was very bouncy, there was not much clay on the court, and it was quite windy too. Coco also played a really good match and I definitely saw why she is two [three, but will move above Iga Swiatek at the end of the tournament] in the world right now.

“She played really well and I do think I got outplayed today, and I have no shame in saying that. I am just looking forward to trying to work to get better.”

The action from Italy concludes on Saturday afternoon, with Raducanu’s victor, Gauff, taking on home crowd favourite Jasmine Paolini in the final.

Emma Raducanu has revealed how she bounced back following her crushing defeat to Coco Gauff in the fourth…

[4105
6740,1070,5066,25564,79,1068,5838,31638,16,15
0":"post-106708","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-tennis","8":"tag-coco-gauff","9":"tag-emma-raducanu","10":"tag-french-open","11":"tag-italian-open","12":"tag-sports","13":"tag-tennis","14":"tag-tennis-news","15":"tag-tennis-scores","16":"tag-uk","17":"tag-united-kingdom
["GET
