Manchester United are in Premier League action on Friday night in what is their penultimate game of what has been a largely unforgettable domestic season.<\/p>\n
Ruben Amorim<\/a>\u2019s side travel to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea<\/a> in the 8.15pm kick-off. For the Blues eyes will be on qualifying for the Champions League<\/a> next season through their league position.<\/p>\n United<\/a> also have the same aim, but their way into the competition will be different. Eyes are instead on the Europa League<\/a> final against Tottenham Hotspur five days later.<\/p>\n With that in mind, the team is expected to be rotated for the game against Chelsea. Having started the last two Premier League<\/a> games, Mason Mount<\/a> is one of those who will look to take his chance to grab a place in the United starting line-up for next week\u2019s final.<\/p>\n Scoring in the 4-3 loss against Brentford at the start of the month, Mount came off the bench to score a brace in the second leg of the semi-final<\/a> against Athletic Club just a few days later. The 4-1 win saw United book their place in the final of the competition.<\/p>\n Mount was back in the starting line-up against West Ham last weekend. Despite the 2-0 loss, he is likely to start again against former club Chelsea.<\/p>\n The midfielder arrived at Old Trafford<\/a> from Stamford Bridge in 2023 for an initial fee of \u00a355 million, potentially rising to \u00a360 million. But so far, his time at United hasn\u2019t really gone how many would have hoped.<\/p>\n The 26-year-old has been hit by injuries over the last couple of seasons. He has made a total of 43 times for United, scoring four goals.<\/p>\n Upon his arrival at United, Transfermarkt valued Mount at a price of \u20ac60 million (\u00a350.4m), close to what United paid for the player. But the last few years have seen his value slowly decline.<\/p>\n The latest value in March this year stood at \u20ac28 million (\u00a323.5m), a drop of around 50 per cent. With Amorim looking for a rebuild in the summer, it leaves United with a decision over the player\u2019s future.<\/p>\n A sale would see the club likely take a significant hint on their original investmen, but could raise funds to bring some new players to the club. Mount will have three years remaining on his contract when the summer transfer window comes around.<\/p>\n Mount\u2019s value could, of course, start to climb again, if he is able to play regularly and get back to the form that saw United invest the money in him in the first place.
