In a week where Sony signalled its intent to kill physical games<\/a>, it could have done without this bug rearing its ugly head.<\/p>\n

Multiple people are reporting that the playtime tracker has been removed from their console \u2013 but only in the case of disc-based games.<\/p>\n

I haven\u2019t been able to replicate the issue myself, although I\u2019ve seen several people<\/a> mention it on<\/a> social media this weekend<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Some have reported being able to fix the issue by deleting and re-installing the games; others claim PS Support is aware of the glitch and is actively working on a fix.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s likely all related to an error which saw random releases added<\/a> to players\u2019 \u2018Recently Played\u2019 list. The company initially acted by removing the entire widget from everyone\u2019s account<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Personally, I don\u2019t think this is a nefarious attempt at making the physical experience worse, although the timing is terrible in that respect.<\/p>\n

I think this is merely another example of the PSN being held together by duct tape and pieces of string, and falling apart at the seams.<\/p>\n

Hopefully the company is able to issue a solution ASAP.<\/p>\n
