The former First Minister hits back after she was splashed across the front of the papers on Friday… and teases Murrell revelations in ‘new chapter’<\/p>\n

Nicola Sturgeon has posted another selection of photos and videos on Instagram as she enjoyed a night out at Abba Voyage show in London.<\/p>\n

The former First Minister was pictured on the front of the Daily Mail on Friday<\/a>, enjoying a few glasses of wine during lunch with human rights lawyer Claire Mitchell KC at Golborne Bistro in Notting Hill.<\/p>\n

The English edition of the midmarket tabloid (which is the one Ms Sturgeon will see now she’s moved to the UK capital) dubbed her the “thirst minister” and said she was “starting early”. The photos were taken by London-based picture agency Backgrid last Sunday.<\/p>\n

However, posting on her Instagram on Friday night, Ms Sturgeon said she was “saving the tabloids the bother” of paying for paparazzi snaps. The former SNP leader was pictured with Ms Mitchell and another legal friend from Glasgow, Garry Sturrock.<\/p>\n

She wrote: “With apologies to those of my ‘fans’ who don\u2019t like seeing me happy. PS – happy @prideinlondon<\/a> day”. The carefree former first minister was pictured dancing and singing at the Abba show.<\/p>\n

The concerts feature virtual avatars (dubbed “ABBAtars”), depicting the group as they appeared in 1979, and they are staged at ABBA Arena, a purpose-built venue in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in east London.<\/p>\n

The pop hits accompanying her Instagram Story included Dancing Queen, Gimme Gimme Gimme, Mamma Mia and Super Trouper including the famous opening line “I was sick and tired of everything, when I called you last night from Glasgow!”<\/p>\n

Ms Sturgeon wrote: “You can take us out of Glasgow but… Good night with great friends. Can’t beat it.”<\/p>\n

The post concludes with an advert for her memoir, Frankly, revealing that the paperback edition “with a new chapter” will be coming out on August 6. Earlier this year, Ms Sturgeon said she was working on a “chunky new chapter” for her book.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the Winter Words Festival in Pitlochry in February, she said: “I am going to write a new chapter for the paperback edition of Frankly, which comes out in August. I have not started writing it yet and I am not entirely sure what is going to contain.<\/p>\n

“But by the time the paperback comes out, I will have left parliament and there will have been an election in Scotland, so we will have a new government. I certainly hope it will be an SNP government, but we will have to wait and see.”<\/p>\n

At the time, she suggested that the rise of far-right politics in the USA and Europe might feature in the new chapter. However, it is now expected to include her reflections on the jailing of her estranged husband, Peter Murrell.<\/p>\n

He is starting a prison sentence of more than five years after pleading guilty to embezzling more than \u00a3400,000 from the SNP while he was chief executive and living with Ms Sturgeon.<\/p>\n
