Tens of thousands of customers across Connecticut also remained without power after the storms swept across the state.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe tree crews were out all night,\u201d Zoppo-Sassu said. \u201cThere were about two dozen streets with major limbs and branches down.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While emergency crews spent the night clearing debris, most roads had reopened by Sunday morning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAs of right now, I believe all roads are passable,\u201d the mayor said. \u201cWe\u2019re expecting that there are some small roads that we didn\u2019t get to last night that we may get calls about.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">City officials believe a possible microburst may have caused some of the most significant damage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe believe there may have been a microburst in the upper Burlington Avenue, Jerome Avenue area,\u201d Zoppo-Sassu said. \u201cThat area was hit the hardest. Right: A large tree branch came down on the property of St. Joseph Church during Saturday\u2019s storm. | David Fortier<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With thousands of residents still without electricity, city officials urged people to check on neighbors, particularly older adults who may be without air conditioning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe encourage people to check on elderly neighbors,\u201d Zoppo-Sassu said. \u201cEven though it\u2019s not as hot today, it can still be hard without air conditioning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The city remains in contact with its Eversource liaison as restoration efforts continue.
