{"id":1074087,"date":"2026-07-07T12:29:23","date_gmt":"2026-07-07T12:29:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1074087\/"},"modified":"2026-07-07T12:29:23","modified_gmt":"2026-07-07T12:29:23","slug":"birmingham-road-closures-for-european-athletics-champs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/1074087\/","title":{"rendered":"Birmingham road closures for European Athletics Champs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Businesses and drivers are being given advance notice that Birmingham city centre roads will be closed for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.birmingham26.com\/home\/competitions\/european-athletics-championships\/overview\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.birmingham26.com\/home\/competitions\/european-athletics-championships\/overview\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">European Athletics Championships<\/a> events during a weekend in August.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Marathon, Race Walk, and Unity Challenge 1K and 5K mass participation events will close roads during <strong>Saturday August 15 and Sunday August 16.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Parking restrictions will start from 11.59pm on Friday August 15 throughout Saturday\u2019s events with parking restrictions back in place from 11.59pm on Saturday into Sunday. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"670\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-08-11-at-3.49.42-PM-1-1024x670.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13786\"  \/>British athletes are excited to see the European Championships coming to the UK<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Any vehicles left on the event routes after these times may be moved by our relocation system\u00a0 and could receive a penalty charge notice.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Signs explaining the road closures and parking restrictions will be put up along the routes two weeks before the event.
