\n\tLauren McQueen, recently seen as Maid Marian in the MGM+\/Lionsgate series \u201cRobin Hood<\/a>,\u201d is set to lead upcoming British psychological drama \u201cCrack\u2019d.\u201d A first-look for the film has been unveiled. <\/p>\n

\n\tCurrently nearing picture lock, the feature is set and shot in Liverpool and sees McQueen play Chloe, a once promising young actress whose reality unravels within a vicious circle of addiction, violation and violence. Robbie O\u2019Neill (\u201cAdolescence,\u201d \u201cEnola Holmes 3\u201d) and Jodie McNee (\u201cThe Gathering\u201d) also star alongside other Liverpudlian talent.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe film comes from Liverpool-based writer\/director Michael J. Long, who describes \u201cCrack\u2019d\u201d as \u201cshifting from gritty social realism into psychological fracture,\u201d adding that he\u2019s hoping it will help lead a new era of filmmaking from his region in the north-west of England.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe performance-led feature serves as the flagship title for a new regional movement I am spearheading: \u2018The Scouse New Wave,’\u201d he said. \u201cOur mission is to champion raw, character-driven storytelling with a distinctly Northern, working-class perspective.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cCrack\u2019d\u201d is being exec produced by Marc Koebernick, Long and AJ Jones, who also serves as producer and stars in the film. It\u2019s being produced by Funk Films, run by Long and Tom Sidney, in association with Zope Studios. Paddy Rowan also produces, as does Kayleigh Ann Coleman, while Bobby Schofield and Shaun Fagan are associate producers. Ben Molyneux-Chan\u00a0serves as director of photography.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cCrack\u2019d\u201d marks Long\u2019s second feature following his debut \u201cBaby Brother,\u201d also set in his native Liverpool. The film premiered in 2024 at the Oldenberg Film Festival, where it won the Hans Ohlms Award. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cCrack\u2019d\u201d is targeting an international festival premiere in early 2027.<\/p>\n
