A vehicle fire sent thick plumes of black smoke into the air in a residential area of Port Talbot<\/a> as emergency services rushed to the scene.<\/p>\n The incident happened in Princess Margaret Way in Aberavon, Sandfields, on Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n Images from the scene showed a vehicle engulfed in flames while nearby residents watched as smoke billowed high above surrounding homes.<\/p>\n Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service (MWFRS) confirmed firefighters attended a vehicle fire in Princess Margaret Way.<\/p>\n The blaze was successfully extinguished, with no casualties or injuries reported.<\/p>\n Fire crews remained at the scene until around 5.30pm before leaving after ensuring the incident had been safely dealt with.<\/p>\n Stay informed on everything Neath Port Talbot by signing up to our newsletter here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Saifur Rahaman, a witness to the incident, described how quickly the fire developed.<\/p>\n “The fire spread incredibly quickly from what appeared to be a stationary vehicle parked close to residential properties,” he told WalesOnline.<\/p>\n “It was concerning to see how rapidly the flames developed.<\/p>\n “I am pleased to say the emergency services responded very quickly.<\/p>\n “South Wales Police<\/a> were first on the scene followed shortly by the fire service.<\/p>\n “Thankfully the swift actions of everyone involved helped ensure the situation was brought under control.”<\/p>\n The cause of the fire has not been confirmed.<\/p>\n Get daily breaking news<\/strong> updates on your phone by joining our WhatsApp community here<\/a>.
