The <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/lifestyle\/sky-tv-down-thousands-customers-35235165\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"problemsLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">problems<\/a>, which affected Sky Q, included error messages on the screen and things completely freezing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Sky has now apologised for the issues and has confirmed things should be back to normal. They told the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/tech\/sky-q-issue-bug-fix-35239392\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"MirrorLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Mirror<\/a>, \u201cWe\u2019re sorry some customers had trouble accessing Sky Q last night. The issue was quickly resolved, and service has been restored.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Although the satellite system appears to be back online and all issues resolved, some are still reporting problems. Social media has been flooded with messages from <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"http:\/\/UK Sky TV customers urged to turn off box now as urgent alert issued\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Sky customersLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\">Sky customers<\/a> saying that Sky Q isn&#8217;t working properly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Taking to Twitter, one user said: &#8220;My <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/lifestyle\/sky-issues-price-hike-warning-35238597\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Q boxLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Q box<\/a> keeps shutting down since yesterday. Unable to contact Sky by phone as they have stopped answering. What\u2019s going on?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>How can it be fixed?<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Don&#8217;t get too concerned, as Sky now says there&#8217;s a simple fix. The age-old trick of hitting the power button should sort things out.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">If your Sky Q box is still stuck in standby, the solution is to switch it off at the power socket for 30 seconds and then turn it back on again. This should restore the service and end the errors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">It appears this tip may be useful to many users, as social media is still being flooded with disgruntled Sky customers who say they are struggling to access their streaming box.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">One user said: &#8220;Sky, any chance you can help with Sky Q box just shutting down and disconnecting from the TV? It seems I am not the only one trying to get help.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Another wrote: &#8220;Thousands of us can\u2019t watch anything on our Sky Q at the moment because it\u2019s down.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Someone else, who had already tried the classic IT trick, added: &#8220;Sky Q has been down since last night.
