Leeds United<\/a> have confirmed that teenager Harry Gray will spend the 26\/27 season out on loan at Sheffield Wednesday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We\u2019re yet to see confirmation of any incomings at Elland Road this summer, but there\u2019s been a couple of outgoings sealed.<\/p>\n

Pascal Struijk headed to Brighton recently, while teenager Harry Gray<\/a> is also on the move on a season-long loan.<\/p>\n

Leeds\u2019 teenage sensation spent the second half of last season on loan at the bottom end of League One. He moved to South Yorkshire with relegation strugglers Rotherham United.<\/p>\n

In the process, Gray\u2019s three goals and flashes of superb talent weren\u2019t enough to keep the Millers from relegation. <\/p>\n

Now, Gray is heading back to the third tier in the same part of the world, this time hopefully at the upper end of the division. A season-long loan to Sheffield Wednesday has now been confirmed for him.<\/p>\n

Owls sporting director Simon Wilson was delighted with the announcement, and expects big things from the 17-year-old.<\/p>\n

\u201cHarry has an elite record in youth football and proved last season that he can translate his qualities to a senior environment,\u201d Wilson told SWFC<\/a>. \u201cIn challenging circumstances, he delivered a good attacking impact in this league and his experiences with Rotherham United will provide solid foundations for him to build from.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cOur playing identity will demand that we create a lot of opportunities, and we expect Harry to be a big threat to our opponents. We are thankful to Leeds United for trusting us with the next phase of his development and look forward to bringing him into the group.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Leeds United made the right choice loaning Harry Gray to League One Sheffield Wednesday<\/p>\n

There is understandably a clamour to see Gray brought into Daniel Farke\u2019s first team as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s an incredibly talented player, but there is a long way to go before he can have a meaningful impact at Premier League level.<\/p>\n

What helps him this season is a full campaign of playing regularly for a side vying for League One promotion. Importantly, he\u2019s competing in a high-pressure environment at a big Yorkshire club, which bodes well.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere were quite a few clubs interested but it was an easy decision because this is such a big club. It\u2019s crazy to think about 24,000 season tickets in League One and the timing is perfect, as I have a full pre-season to settle in,\u201d Gray told his new employers.<\/p>\n

\u201cHillsborough is a special stadium when the fans get going and I think this year, with everything that\u2019s going on around the place, it should be unbelievable and hopefully a season to remember. It\u2019s the perfect place for me.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

If platformed correctly, there\u2019s no reason why Gray can\u2019t hit 15-20 goals in League One next season. The way he\u2019s spoke about the move, plus Wilson\u2019s testimony, suggests that Gray will thrive at Hillsborough next season.<\/p>\n

A strong campaign in that environment is one step closer for Gray becoming a star at Elland Road.<\/p>\n
